Pillow, Carroll athletes make all-star football teams

Pillow Academy’s Tate DuBard and Carroll Academy’s Will Rayesky and Landon Grantham have been selected to play in their respective MAIS all-star football games.
DuBard, a senior quarterback for the Mustangs, will play in the Class 4A-6A contest, which will be held at 5 p.m. on Dec. 1 at Jackson Prep in Flowood.

Pillow girls dominate Wayne Academy in tourney

Pillow Academy’s girls basketball team effortlessly notched a 72-21 win over Wayne Academy Tuesday in the East Rankin Academy Tournament in Pelahatchie.
The Lady Mustangs (9-0) scored 21 points and held Wayne scoreless in the first quarter, then led 38-11 at the half and 58-17 after the third.

Prep Basketball: Carroll boys squeak past Manchester; Lady Panthers win

The Carroll Academy boys basketball team got a defensive stop late in the game to defeat Manchester Academy 41-40 Thursday night in Yazoo City.
The Rebels (2-3) got 15 points from Cohen Blaylock and 13 from Landon Grantham. Owen Garrett chipped in 12 points.
