The Amanda Elzy boys basketball team got 17 points and two steals from Jacoreyun Miller in defeating visiting Gentry High School 57-33 Tuesday night.
The Panthers (2-2) raced out to a 16-5 lead after the first period, but the Rams made it 22-14 by halftime. A 15-12 run in the third gave Elzy a 37-26 lead after the third frame.

PA girls still perfect with win over Leake

The Pillow Academy girls basketball team moved to 7-0 on the season with a 49-34 win over rival Leake Academy Tuesday in Madden.
Pillow only led 6-5 after the first frame but outscored the Lady Rebels 21-8 in the second for a 27-13 advantage at the half. The Lady Mustangs made it 44-21 at the end of the third frame.

Prep Basketball: Bulldogs move to 3-0 with win over Coahoma

The Greenwood High School boys basketball team continued its hot start with a 44-42 victory over Coahoma County at the Grenada High Cancer Classic Saturday.
The 3-0 Bulldogs led 13-9 after one and 18-17 at the half. Coahoma took a 30-26 lead after the third period, but Greenwood outscored the Red Panthers 18-12 in the fourth frame.
