Prep Basketball: Lady Mustangs knock off Prep

The Lady Mustangs of Pillow Academy used a 19-8 run in the fourth period to pull off a 45-32 win over Jackson Prep Tuesday night in Flowood.
The Lady Patriots led 14-12 after the first frame and 20-16 at the half. Pillow (11-0) went in front 26-24 after the third period.

The Pillow Academy varsity teams pulled off a sweep of Lee Academy Monday night in Clarksdale.
The Mustangs climbed above the .500 mark with a 55-45 victory over the Colts, improving to 4-3 in Andrew Mitchell’s first full year as head coach.

Elzy’s Miller explodes for 45 points in loss

Amanda Elzy junior Jacoreyun Miller threw in 45 points in a 60-59 loss to Greenville High School Tuesday afternoon at Elzy’s gymnasium.
Miller, the reigning Commonwealth Player of the Year, was 6-of-6 from 3-point range and converted 10-of-13 shots from the free throw line. He also had four steals, three rebounds and two assists.
