Jordan: Voter roll bill could disenfranchise many

Gunn to continue as House speaker

Incumbent Speaker Philip Gunn of Clinton was selected by his Republican colleagues to continue as the presiding officer in the Mississippi House for the next four-year term starting in early January.

The Republican caucus’ decision to support Gunn for a new four-year term was expected.

Many say Trump support of Reeves isn't a big factor

A majority of Mississippi voters — 58% — say President Donald Trump’s decision to endorse Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves for governor will not be a factor or will be only a minor factor in their voting decision, according to a NBC News/Survey Monkey poll released this week.

Of that majority, 42% said it would not be a factor at all.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
