Mississippi Valley State was at home Saturday in search of back-to-back wins for the first time since the end of the 2012, but the Delta Devils were shutout 24-0 at Rice-Totten Stadium in Itta Bena.

Greenwood has dominated Region 3-4A for nearly seven years now.

The Bulldogs can put the finishing touches on its seventh straight district championship Friday in their regular-season finale against Yazoo City. The winner claims the region crown and the top seed from the region in next week’s state playoffs.

Pillow Academy shook off a sluggish start to post a 42-21 win over Magnolia Heights on Senior Night Friday at Bill Davis Field.

In doing so, the Mustangs kept their hopes for a first-round playoff bye alive as they moved to 7-2 overall, 3-0 in District 1-5A. Pillow closes out the regular season next week at Bayou Academy in Cleveland.
