Errors doom PA

Pillow Academy put up double-digit runs for the second straight game, but again came away with a loss.

The Mustangs were doomed by an incredibly rough defensive outing — committing 11 errors that led to 16 unearned runs in a 22-10 defeat at the hands of Kirk Academy Thursday night at PA’s Louis Coleman Field.

Pillow Academy reeled off 14 runs on 14 hits in eight innings, but it still wasn’t nearly enough.

Bayou Academy scored 18 runs, 14 earned, off 15 hits en route to an 18-14 win over the Mustangs Tuesday at PA’s Louis Coleman Field.

Pillow (2-2) went through five pitchers in the slugfest while the Colts used four.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
