Thomas Dillard had a big weekend against then-No. 6 Texas A&M.

His sprint from third base on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth helped then-No. 19 Ole Miss complete a sweep of the Aggies with a 3-2 win before 9,681 fans at Swayze Field on Saturday in Oxford.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
