Chiefs sweep Mustangs

Pillow Academy let the first game slip away in the last inning and then was blown out in the nightcap of a doubleheader Tuesday against Magnolia Heights.

The Mustangs lost 4-3 in Game 1 after leading 3-1 going into the top of the seventh. The Chiefs won the next one 21-7 to finish the year 6-0 in North AAAA Division II.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
