Greenwood’s Jim Gallagher has seen the Ryder Cup from both angles.

He played in it in 1993 and he covered it for the Golf Channel this year. Both were special and unique.

Premium high school football talent will be on display Saturday in Mobile, Alabama.

That’s where the 30th annual Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Classic will be played. Kickoff is set for noon at the Crampton Bowl, and the game will be televised live locally on WABG.

JACKSON — Jackson Academy made it a clean sweep over visiting Pillow Academy.

The Mustangs hung tough for 21/2 quarters, but it was over quickly for the Lady Mustangs.

The JA girls (12-1) raced out to a 21-4 lead in the first period and never looked back en route to a 59-29 victory here Tuesday night.

The Dallas Cowboys have come out of nowhere this season to take the NFL by storm.

At 11-1, they have the best record in the league and have already clinched a playoff berth with four games to go.

The main cogs behind the Cowboys’ run are rookies Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott.
