Athlons pegs MSU 30th nationally, Ole Miss 46th

Athlonsports.com isn’t making any bold predictions for Mississippi State or Ole Miss when it comes to the SEC Western Division race.

The website recently ranked MSU 30th among all 130 FBS teams, picking the Bulldogs to finish fifth out of the seven teams in the West.

The Rebels are ranked 46th overall and last in the West.

SWAC to cut title game after 2017

In a surprise announcement Tuesday, the Southwestern Athletic Conference said it was dropping its football conference championship game after the 2017 season.

Beginning in 2018, the SWAC football championship title will go to the team with the best regular season conference record.
