Man tells police ‘devil’ made him stab his estranged wife

PASCAGOULA — A man accused of stabbing his estranged wife told arresting officers the devil made him do it, Pascagoula Police said Friday.

Sgt. Calvin Hudgins said Darold Payne, 27, of Pascagoula, was booked on an aggravated domestic assault charge after police responded to a complaint of a stabbing at an apartment complex.

Coroner seeks order to dig up woman

BAY ST. LOUIS — A woman buried in Hancock County in 1998 remains unidentified, but county Coroner Jim Faulk believes he can change that if a judge agrees to sign an order to exhume her body.

Faulk asked Circuit Judge Lisa Dodson on Friday for an order to disinter the remains of the young woman, the Sun Herald reports.
