Ex-headmaster’s lawsuit moved

A former Carroll Academy headmaster’s lawsuit against the school’s board of directors for breach of contract will no longer be tried in Leflore County.
Instead, Barry Finnie’s lawsuit has been ordered moved to Carroll County Circuit Court, according to a Tuesday filing in the Leflore County Circuit Clerk’s Office.

School district must return federal funds

The Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School District will have to return $122,428 in unspent federal pandemic relief funds to the U.S. Department of Education.
The money is from the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER II) Fund. The original contract allocated to the district was $1.6 million.
