The Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School Board met behind closed doors for the third time this week Wednesday, but this latest session was unrelated to an earlier personnel-related grievance hearing.
Board President Samantha Milton said Wednesday’s meeting — which also pertains to the job performance of a separate unnamed employee — is not connected to a grievance hearing held Monday.
No action was taken Wednesday.
During a special called meeting Monday, the board went into a private session for a grievance hearing that lasted around four hours. The hearing was held at the Leflore County Civic Center for reasons undisclosed by school officials.
Dr. Mary Brown, the superintendent, and Kelia Washington, the chief of finance for the school district, were present with the board during the session. Several district employees were rotated in one at a time.
On Tuesday, again in closed session, board members resumed their discussions about the grievance as well as the job performance of this employee, according to Kelvin Pulley, the board’s attorney.
Milton confirmed Wednesday that both topics concerned the same person. The executive session lasted around an hour.
Milton said no action was taken at either Monday’s or Tuesday’s closed-door sessions.
She has said, however, that once a decision has been made, it will be made public.
