Suddenlink
Regarding Greenwood Mayor Carolyn McAdams’ letter to the editor (“Suddenlink isn’t doing its customers right,” Jan. 25):
Thank you, Mayor! I have been very frustrated with Suddenlink’s service and the astronomical cost. It is unfortunate there is no viable competition for a combined internet and cable TV provider. If there were, Suddenlink would be forced to invest and upgrade its infrastructure or cease to exist.
My wish would be for the city to research the viability of municipal-provided fiber to its citizens. Greenwood Utilities already should have the right of way and infrastructure to run the fiber, along with accounting and billing expertise to bill customers. It would be fantastic to cut the cable and stream everything, along with it being a great investment to attract and retain business and industry by offering high-speed fiber.

Since the Commonwealth seems intent on running his venomous, divisive columns, I say that only a twisted, liberal, leftist racist such as Leonard Pitts Jr. of the Miami Herald, either ignorant of or oblivious to history, not to mention facts, would take the opportunity to use the liberation of the Nazi death camp at Auschwitz, Poland, to criticize and try to make comparisons to Donald Trump and/or Republicans (“Hell is a place called Auschwitz,” Jan. 25).
But then again, can you say ANTIFA? Pitts and his ilk of communist apologist propagandists epitomize what is really wrong with our country and why it has declined so in the past 50 years. It’s not the Russians we need to worry about; it’s the liberals.
But rave on, Jr. Even though the Commonwealth keeps printing it, fewer and fewer people are reading your tripe, and even less and less are paying any attention to it — especially around here.

It is and always has been and always will be hard to defend a lie.
The world can see now with Donald Trump in the office of the presidency that it is impossible to defend anyone when every word that he speaks is a lie. All one can do is make excuses for him.
The country is being harmed, maybe beyond repair. But maybe someone will be helped by realizing that all lies will be revealed.
