Delta Digitals: WOODPECKERS!
The tapping was enough to drive me crazy, teasing me out of whatever I was doing to grab my Nikon. I wanted at least one good shot of a woodpecker. I knew there was at least one nearby. I could hear it. However, I couldn't see it. I didn't know how many there were, either. Countless times, that pecking sound would signal the beginning of a woodpecker hunt. I was certain that I would be successful one day. Thankfully, I was. These elusive birds were going to get caught in the blinking focal points of my lens one day. Since that first breathtaking encounter, I've taken several shots of woodpeckers and I even know the general areas where some live in the neighborhood! Here are a small handful of my favorite shots.
