NORTH CARROLLTON — The Carroll County School Board has changed its mind and will resume alternating its monthly meetings between North Carrollton and Vaiden.
In January, the school board had voted to quit meeting in Vaiden. But the board voted 3-2 at its February meeting to resume meeting in Vaiden starting in April, the Carrollton Conservative reported today.
After the closing of Vaiden’s Hathorn Elementary in 2010, all of the county’s students now attend classes in North Carrollton.
“We moved the school here, but we need to keep that connection with Vaiden,” board member Rubye Miller told the Conservative.
“It needs to be as convenient as possible for people to come to meetings. We need that connection with Vaiden.”
Traditionally, the board has met in January, March, May, July, September and November at J.Z. George High School in North Carrollton, and in February, April, June, August, October and December at the courthouse in Vaiden.
Meetings start at 6 p.m.
