VAIDEN — Two prisoners will spend five years in prison each for escaping from the Carroll-Montgomery Regional Correctional Facility last fall.
Cordellra McCaley, 24, who was serving a 15-year sentence for the burglary of a dwelling in Montgomery County, recently got five more years after pleading guilty to escaping from jail, the Carrollton Conservative reported today.
McCaley will not be eligible for parole. However, habitual offender charges against him were dismissed, according to court records.
Christopher Coker, 30, was sentenced to five years for escape. At the time of the breakout, Coker was being held on felony domestic violence charges out of Vaiden.
The two men are serving their sentences at the Carroll-Montgomery jail.
McCaley and Coker escaped from the jail on Oct. 11. They were in the jail exercise yard around noon and escaped by climbing three fences topped with razor wire. They then fled into the nearby woods.
Coker surrendered to authorities the next day. McCaley was recaptured on Oct. 13.
