An Itta Bena teenager has been charged in one armed robbery and is expected to be charged in two other recent break-ins, Leflore County Sheriff Ricky Banks said today.
Stephen Williams, 16, 224 Lincoln St., Itta Bena, was still jailed this morning and charged with armed robbery of an occupied dwelling.
He is accused of breaking into a unit of Ivory Lane Apartments on County Road 514 early on Aug. 31 with a shotgun while a man and woman were inside and taking a purse that contained money, Banks said.
Williams will be charged as an adult because he is accused of using a weapon.
He also is suspected in a Monday car burglary and residential burglary at the home of relatives on Davis Drive in Itta Bena, Banks said.
In that incident, Williams got nothing from the car but allegedly took money and jewelry from the residence, Banks said.
