A 34-year-old Greenwood woman is likely to be charged with simple robbery today, says Greenwood Police Chief Ray Moore.
The woman was being held for investigation in the Leflore County Jail this morning. The Commonwealth does not typically publish the names of people held for investigation but not yet charged.
The chief said the incident happened at around 7:15 p.m. Saturday.
A woman, identified as Latania Dodd, cashed a $3,000 “school refund check” and gave the suspect a ride home, the chief said.
After she let the suspect off, Moore said, Dodd noticed the $3,000 in cash had been taken out of her purse.
