Leflore layoffs
Regarding the article “Jordan: District shows ‘plantation mentality’” (May 1):
When jobs are posted of non-renewed teachers, these are not layoffs but firings. A state law states the conservator does not have to give an explanation on nonrenewal and can terminate an employee at any time.
