Theo Avgerinos was a senior in college when he decided to join his old youth group from New Canaan, Connecticut for a mission trip to the Mississippi Delta.
The film student brought his camera to document the journey to Indianola-based Delta Missions.

Shooting victim found dead

The body of a 21-year-old man who had been shot several times was discovered in the back yard of an Itta Bena residence earlier this week.
According to Leflore County Coroner Debra Sanders, a family residing on the 200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Itta Bena heard gunshots around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Greenwood man charged with murder

A man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a Greenwood woman earlier this month.
Leflore County Sheriff Ricky Banks confirmed Lacey Wade, 58, 1704 Grenada Blvd., has been charged in the death of Ginger Renee Phillips, 46, of Greenwood.
