Greenwood man charged with murder

A man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a Greenwood woman earlier this month.

Leflore County Sheriff Ricky Banks confirmed Lacey Wade, 58, 1704 Grenada Blvd., has been charged in the death of Ginger Renee Phillips, 46, of Greenwood.

Wade was being held Monday at the Leflore County Jail. Bond had not been set.

Donald Smith, Phillips’ stepfather, said he believed Phillips was living at Wade’s residence at the time of her death, but he did not know the details of the relationship between the two.

Phillips died at Wade’s home on Jan. 4.

Leflore County Coroner Debra Sanders said autopsy results are not yet complete. A toxicology report also is pending. Authorities are continuing their investigation.

Lacey Wade was acquitted on those charges. Has anyone thought about following up on those charges and writing about that? No, it seems that ppl are quick to point fingers, and write defamatory articles about someone instead of writing a follow up To clear someone’s name and do the right thing, this article is the first thing you see when you type in his name. There was never a thought given to the fact that that was his girlfriend whom he was and is still grieving over. And jailed unjustly and denied the opportunity to attend her funeral. Now when his name is googled all he sees is defamation of character. With no acquittal follow- up. This article should be taken down and archived so as it not being the only thing that shows up when he’s looked up on google. Lacy Wade is a good person and should be treated as such, not looked at like a murderer as this article suggests.
