Itta Bena woman killed in wreck

An Itta Bena woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday morning.
Leflore County Coroner Debra Sanders said Tomeka Collins, 47, was driving on a county road west of Mississippi Valley State University when she lost control of her vehicle and drove off the road head-on into a tree. Collins was killed on impact.

2 suspects in Domino’s burglary identified

Greenwood police have identified two suspects in last week’s burglary of a Domino’s restaurant, Chief Terrence Craft said.
More than $1,300 was taken from the safe at the Domino’s on U.S. 82 early that morning.

Man's death last week investigated as homicide

The death of a Greenwood man last week is now being investigated as a homicide.
Desi Jackson Jr., 20, was found dead by his brother close to the train tracks near Avenue C and Bryant Avenue on the morning of July 21.
Police Chief Terrence Craft confirmed Wednesday that Jackson had been shot in the back of the head.
