Two Greenwood pedestrians have been released from Greenwood Leflore Hospital after being hit by a car on Tuesday evening while crossing U.S. 82.
Glenn Mitchell and Kimberly Terry were struck by a sedan traveling east at the intersection of U.S. 82 and Strong Avenue around 9:15 p.m.

Orlando "King" Pittman was killed before a fire was set Saturday night in the apartment where he was found, according to authorities.

Man charged with murder released on bond

A Greenwood man has been released on bond after being charged in connection with a shooting that left one dead.
Antrown Tyrone Wil-liams, 40, 1001 Fairfield Road, was released from the Leflore County Jail on Tuesday after posting a bond of $25,000.

J.Z. George student dies in early-morning accident

Heavy fog played a part in a vehicular accident that claimed the life of a beloved J.Z. George High School student Thursday morning, according to authorities.
Dawson Mims, a 16-year-old junior, died in a three-vehicle accident that occurred on Mississippi 17 about 5 miles south of Carrollton, said Carroll County Sheriff Clint Walker.
