A two-car wreck on Carrollton Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday caused one car to hit the front of Lusco’s restaurant.
Karen Pinkston, co-owner of Lusco’s, said she got a call at 11:35 p.m. about a red Cadillac that had hit the front of the restaurant, knocking out a window and destroying the bottom framing.

Supervisors adopt ordinance on burning

Leflore County soon will have an ordinance that says how and when farmers may burn fields, such as those with stubble leftover from harvest.
The new county law, which will go into effect later this summer, makes it a misdemeanor with a fine of $100 to $500 to "knowingly and willfully" violate any part of the ordinance.

Police ID shooting suspect

Police have identified a suspect in a shooting on Monday that took the life of a Greenwood man.
Police Chief Terrence Craft said the shooting is still under investigation and declined to give further details, but said investigators are “preparing to wrap this one up.”
