2 sentenced to life for shootings

Two Greenwood brothers have been sentenced to life without the possibility of parole on capital murder charges stemming from a 2017 shooting incident in Cruger.
Holmes County Circuit Judge Barry Ford sentenced Perez Love and Demantreous Love Tuesday for the death of Vernardo Washington.

A heavy presence of law enforcement made up of the Grenada Police Department and Grenada Sheriff's Office responded to the scene of the homicide in the 700 block of Leigh Avenue early Tuesday morning. A gathering of family and friends were also on the scene.

Express Grain Terminals: Tentative settlement reached on grain

A tentative settlement has been reached over ownership of the grain and grain proceeds currently in Express Grain Terminal’s possession.
Attorneys announced the deal during a Friday hearing just days before a trial was scheduled to begin April 18. That trial has been postponed, but the date has not been set.
