HDW building donated to city

The Hardware Distribution Warehouses building on Sycamore Avenue has been donated to the city of Greenwood after being vacant for more than six years.
The Greenwood City Council unanimously accepted the donation at Tuesday’s meeting. Ward 1’s Johnny Jennings and Ward 7’s Carl Palmer were absent.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
