Murder trial delayed; too few for jury

Another murder trial didn’t start this week because a 12-person jury could not be assembled from those who showed up for jury duty.
The issue is becoming more common, Circuit Judge Margaret Carey-McCray said Thursday morning.

Prep Players of the Week: Trio selected for Commonwealth’s weekly honor

Greenwood High School running back Jawuan Gideon put together one of his better games of the 2025 season in last week’s 32-10 win over Gentry High School.
For his efforts, the senior tailback has been selected as one of the Commonwealth’s Players of the Week.

2 charged with selling alcohol to minors

Carroll County deputies have arrested two store managers for allegedly selling alcohol to minors who were undercover.
The arrests, according to a release from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, come after a month-long investigation into the issue.
