The Itta Bena Board of Aldermen has approved hiring a part-time deputy clerk to balance the workload and help the city catch up on audits.
Debra Martin, a former state employee, was approved to fill the position Tuesday. She will join Iretha Franklin, the full-time deputy clerk, and will be trained by Barbara Applon, city clerk.
