MHSAA All-Star Basketball: Holmes' Greer one of the coaches

Holmes County Central’s Luana Greer, a former standout player at Leflore County High School, has been chosen to serve as the head coach of the 5A/6A/7A girls North team for the all-star basketball games next year.
Greer will be assisted by her two assistants at Holmes, Retha Greer and Tremain Johnson.

Greenwood High School’s Gregory Conner breaks loose on a punt return late in the first half of Friday night’s game against Amanda Elzy. Conner didn’t score on the return, but the Bulldogs went on to beat the Panthers 44-0 for their second straight victory over Elzy.

Bulldogs secure 2nd in a row

After a lackadaisical effort in practice this week, Greenwood struggled to start against an overmatched Amanda Elzy.
The Bulldogs used a couple of big returns on special teams and the defense forced some big turnovers to jump-start GHS en route to an easy 44-0 win over the rival Panthers.
