County board OKs budget with tax hike

The Leflore County Board of Supervisors approved the county’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year, which included a property tax increase of about 3.9%.
The increase was accomplished by raising the millage rate, which determines property tax liability. A mill is equal to $1 of tax for each $1,000 of assessed value.
