Youth grazed in shooting

Greenwood police respond to a shooting at Curtis Moore Apartments, off Martin Luther King Jr. Drive on Wednesday night. Interim Police Chief Serafin Simon said police received a call about shots fired at the complex around midnight. A 17-year-old male was grazed by a bullet and taken to Greenwood Leflore Hospital.

A handful of candidates in Itta Bena’s general election gathered inside the Board of Aldermen’s meeting room at City Hall awaiting voting results Tuesday night.
This includes Dr. Mary Tyes-Williams, who so far has a narrow lead to become the next mayor of Itta Bena.
