The marriage that took place during Friday’s Christmas parade in Greenwood could be taken from a fairy tale.
Cindy Saulter and her fiancee, Tom Whitesides, stood on Keesler Bridge and said their “I do”s between a decorated float and a performing high school band.

Despite his team losing 29-28 in its third game of the season, Delta Streets Academy’s Lance Link continued to shine for the Lions.
Link, a senior quarterback/linebacker for DSA, ran and passed for 219 yards of offense in the Lions’ loss to MAIS member Central Holmes Christian School last week in Lexington.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
