Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School District: Federally funded building projects halted

The Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School District has halted all construction projects set to be funded by federal grants after President Donald Trump’s administration decided to freeze the remaining funds.

Prep Football: Mustangs shut down Winston

Pillow Academy scored a touchdown in each quarter as the Mustangs opened the season with a 27-6 win over Winston Academy Friday night in Louisville.
Pillow’s defense also did its part with numerous stops. The Mustangs were ked on that side of the ball by Walker Goldberg, Braden Goss, Carter Goss and Axel Mattox.

Council OKs contract for Carl Center manager

The Greenwood City Council has approved a contract to bring Karyn Burrus back to manage The Carl Center, but Mayor Kenderick Cox says he does not support the move.
“The board placed the contract on the agenda,” he said.
