School board votes to fire Johnson

The Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School Board voted to fire Superintendent Mary Johnson at a special call meeting Wednesday.
Following a four-hour executive session, board attorney Derrick Simmons announced the board was releasing Johnson from her contract effective immediately.
Simmons declined to say how each member voted.

A Leflore County jury has found James Leahman guilty of murder in the 2019 shooting death of Donald Spells, according to a release from the Leflore County District Attorney’s Office.
