CARROLLTON — The Carroll Academy boys found their shooting touch Saturday as the Rebels cruised to a 94-71 win over visiting Tri-County Academy in Carrollton.
Carroll (6-4) raced out to a 31-6 lead after the first quarter.
However, TCA outscored CA 25-21 in the second frame to make it 52-31 at the half. The Rebels of Flora held a 24-15 scoring edge in the third period to only trail 67-55 headed into the fourth.
Peyton Banes led Carroll with 27 points. Breland Marett hit for 26, and Jeremy Mumme tacked on 18. Hayden Harrell notched 12.
The junior high Rebels dropped a 46-25 decision to Tri-County to fall to 1-9. Colby Harper paced CA with eight points.
In action from Friday night, Carroll’s boys secured a 74-53 District 1-AA win over North Delta School. The Rebels led 13-11 after one, 38-24 at the half and 54-46 after the third.
Banes and Marett had 19 points each for Carroll, and Trey Taylor tacked on 18.
The junior Rebels lost 48-22 to North Delta, which led 34-14 at the half. Jake Liddell led Carroll with six points.
The Lady Rebels lost 55-46 to Tri-County to fall to 4-9 on the season. TCA led 13-11 after one, 26-22 at the half and 36-30 after the third.
Haley Liddell led Carroll with 20 points; Peyton Clanton had 11.
In Friday’s tilt with North Delta, the Lady Rebels lost 51-23. The Lady Greenwave led 16-6 after one, 32-8 at the half and 40-16 after the third.
Bailey Marett and Memrie Corley had five points each for CA.
Both Carroll teams will host the school’s tournament Dec. 28 and 29.
