John-Richard has hired a new chief merchandising and marketing officer.
Jonathan Michael Parks will oversee all design, development, merchandising, marketing and sales for the luxury home decor manufacturer. The chief merchandising and marketing officer is a new position created to help John-Richard stay on “its path of continued growth and expansion,” the company said in a statement.
The company hailed Parks as “highly regarded in the design industry” and “known as an innovative home product merchandiser and brand development strategist who has a keen perspective of current and future trends.”
“I’ve spent half my life working for luxury brands. But I’ve been waiting an equal amount of time for an opportunity like this to come my way,” Parks said. “John-Richard is the pinnacle of style and design, and I’m thrilled to play a part in the ongoing growth of this brand.”
Before joining, Parks, 46, held various leadership roles within Ethan Allen Global, a furniture chain with about 300 stores throughout the world. He holds a bachelor’s degree in retail business and marketing from Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont.
He was raised in Colorado and New Jersey but has lived in New York City for the last 20 years.
He and his husband, Anthony, have two children — daughter Bleu, 17, and son Lucas, 14 — as well as four dogs: Argusaurus P. Rex, Loretta Lynn Superstar, King James of Redding the XIII and Driving Miss MayBelle.
