2 Nashville musicians will perform Tuesday

A pair of Nashville musicians will kick off the Hush Puppy Music Co-Op’s first show of 2026.
Paul Burch and Fats Kaplin will perform Tuesday both separately and together. Special guest Kristi Rose will also join the duo on stage. The concert will be at 7 p.m., at Old City Hall, 121 Main St.

Rebels break loose in 16-1 win over NSA

The Carroll Academy baseball team moved to 1-1 on the young season with a 16-1 triumph over visiting North Sunflower Academy Monday in Carrollton.
The Rebels plated 12 runs in the first inning and four in the second. NSA scored one run in the first.

To do that work well takes skilled reporters and editors, as many as a community can support through advertising, subscriptions and philanthropy.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
