Bobbie and Juanita Baker of Greenwood celebrated 70 years of marriage on July 17, 2008.
The couple was married in 1938, when Bobbie borrowed $25 from his friend, David Hicks, and Hicks and his girlfriend at the time, Vivian Cooper, drove with them to Greenville to get married on a Sunday afternoon.
