Lawrence Williams, a retired Greenwood Police Department detective, says he got into law enforcement entirely by accident but made a career out of it.
Williams is originally from New Jersey, where his father served in the military and was stationed at Fort Dix. When his father was discharged, they moved to Mississippi.
