CARROLLTON — The joy of Christmas is present and alive at the Carroll County home of Mike and Glenda Upchurch.
Glenda, 68, a homemaker, has built one of the most impressive collections of Christmas-related items in the area.

2 suspects in Domino’s burglary identified

Greenwood police have identified two suspects in last week’s burglary of a Domino’s restaurant, Chief Terrence Craft said.
More than $1,300 was taken from the safe at the Domino’s on U.S. 82 early that morning.

City board appointments, reappointments approved

The Greenwood City Council approved one new appointment and nine reappointments to the city’s planning commission and tourism commission.
The council approved the appointment of Maggie Joe Ellis to the Planning Commission 6-0, with Council President Ronnie Stevenson abstaining.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
