School board upholds firing of Johnson-Waldington

The board of the Greenwood-Leflore Consolidated School District has upheld its decision to terminate James Johnson-Waldington as the district’s superintendent.

LOUIS VERNON ‘DUTCH’ EHRET JR.: 1924-2023 World War II veteran loved life

Louis Vernon “Dutch” Ehret Jr., one of Greenwood’s remaining World War II veterans, died in his home on Sunday. Ehret, who turned 99 in April, served as an anti-aircraft gunner in the 29th infantry division during the Allied invasion of France in 1943. He is remembered as a gentleman, friend and patriot by those who knew him.

Most documents for GLH line of credit approved
