Grant helps Valley buy bus

The Mississippi Transportation Commission has approved a $39,782 grant through the Mississippi Department of Transportation to purchase and insure a new bus for public transit at Mississippi Valley State University.
The funding comes from money set aside by MDOT for different modes of transportation within the state.

Board agrees to help with sewage project

The Leflore County Board of Supervisors has decided to provide financial assistance to the town of Schlater in revamping its sewage system only if the county receives confirmation that it can use American Rescue Plan Act money to do so.
