Lexington man indicted for capital murder

A Lexington man accused of killing a Texas police officer has been indicted on that charge and has also been charged with assault of a public servant.
A Kaufman County, Texas, grand jury indicted Darrian Cortez Johnson, 25, on a capital murder charge last week, CBS News Texas reported on Dec. 20.

Parent agrees to dismiss complaint against school district

A parent who filed a complaint against the Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School District alleging her son was assaulted by a teacher has come to an agreement with the district to dismiss the complaint.

Greenwood’s Big Lots, located on West Park Avenue, is expected to close in February. A “going out of business” sale is ongoing. Big Lots store to close in February

Greenwood’s Big Lots store is going out of business.
The Park Avenue location, which has about 16 employees, is expected to wind down its operation sometime in February, store manager Janie Proctor said Monday. The store was active with customers as it worked to sell off its remaining inventory.
