Cox elected mayor; incumbent McAdams concedes

Kenderick Cox will be the next mayor of Greenwood.
Cox, 41, came out ahead in Tuesday’s election over incumbent Carolyn McAdams, 78. Cox led the in-person and absentee total with 1,835 votes, or 53%, to McAdams’ 1,649, or 47%.

Kenderick Cox appears to be the next mayor of Greenwood after Tuesday’s unofficial vote total shows him leading incumbent Mayor Carolyn McAdams.
Cox, 41, led McAdams, 78, with 1,835 votes, or 53% of the vote. McAdams earned 1,649 votes, or 47% of the vote. The count includes 339 absentee ballots.

Mayor Carolyn McAdams is seeking a fifth and final term. Her opponent, Kenderick Cox, is challenging her for the third consecutive election and is hopeful the third time is the charm.
