Greenwood Leflore Hospital appears to be at the center of attention when it comes to rural health care in Mississippi. The Commonwealth and other news outlets have been following the Division of Medicaid’s demands that the hospital recoup $5.5 million in overpayments for the years 2024 and 2025.

Bill would allow sale of hospital

A new bill introduced in the Mississippi Legislature allowing the city of Greenwood and Leflore County Board of Supervisors to sell Greenwood Leflore Hospital has caught Greenwood city officials off guard.

Middleby deal won’t affect Viking operations

26North Partners has completed the purchase of 51% controlling interest of The Middleby Corp.’s Residential Kitchen business, which includes Greenwood’s Viking Range.
The agreement between the companies was announced in December. The completion of the purchase was announced in a press release Monday.
