Pillow Academy’s hopes of repeating as MAIS Overall champions came to a heartbreaking end at Jackson Academy on Tuesday night.

The Lady Mustangs battled during a back-and-forth second half featuring 23 total ties and lead changes, but they ultimately fell short, 54-52, against the Raiders.

Delta Streets coasts to first state title

LEARNED — For the first time in school history, the Delta Streets Academy Lions are state champions.

DSA overcame a first-quarter deficit in the MAIS Class 1A championship game, outscoring Riverdale Academy (Louisiana) 55-27 the rest of the way to claim a 74-47 win Saturday night at Rebul Academy.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
