A group of Mississippi state legislators, public service commissioners and the head of Delta Electric Power Association celebrate the Mississippi Public Service Commission’s designation of Delta Fiber, a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Electric, as an Eligible Telecommunications Carrier. The designation means Delta Fiber will be able to receive close to $47 million in federal grant support to expand broadband internet service throughout Delta Electric’s customer service territory over the next 10 years.
