In a small yard next to Leflore Legacy Academy’s building on West Washington Street is a red cross, set up in the shade of a tree, bearing white text: “Honoring the Legacy of Casey Larry.”
It’s a monument dedicated to Larry’s time as an eighth-grade teacher at the charter school, his first teaching position, which he began in 2023.
