The Museum of the Mississippi Delta’s newest exhibit is a unique showing of work created over the past year by four artists living in Bolivar County.

“4 Artists” opened Thursday and will run throughout October.

Greenwood native loves Browning community

Niqua Graham-Brooks’ love of the Browning community started when she was in the seventh grade.

Graham-Brooks is a Greenwood native. Her family lived in Greenwood and then moved to Bay Springs — where her mother is from — when she was about 5 years old.

“That’s where I spent my elementary years,” she said.

Riders participate in last year’s Greenwood Gravel Grind. The event includes two routes of 100 kilometers and 50 kilometers, where cyclists will travel on the flat Delta terrain as well as the Carroll County hills.

Local news matters to Greenwood. It keeps the people informed and connected. It asks the questions they want answered. It elevates what’s good, and it exposes what’s not.

To do that work well takes skilled reporters and editors, as many as a community can support through advertising, subscriptions and philanthropy.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
